MUSIC MINISTRY
The Music Ministry at St. James provides an avenue for fellowship and service for members of the congregation who share the love of singing or playing music. The Music Ministry is made up of anointed singers and choirs who present a varied repertoire of anthems, hymns, spirituals, gospel music, praise & worship songs, and contemporary music. St. James A.M.E. Church is blessed to have several choirs: the Perfecting Praise Choir, Men's Choir, and Youth Choir. Our musicians are: Doris Walker (organ), Larry Eubanks and Damath Sanford (percussion).
PERFECTING PRAISE CHOIR
The Perfecting Praise Choir is the mass choir of the church and renders music on the first, third, and fifth Sundays. Rehearsal is on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m.
MEN'S CHOIR
The Men's Choir consists of men and boys of all ages. Rehearsal is on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. The Men's Choir leads the congregation in song every second Sunday.
YOUTH CHOIR
The Youth Choir generally rehearses on the third and fourth Saturdays of each month and renders music every fourth Sunday. Denise Carter is the Director.
